London has easily become one of my favorite places in the world. It is a massive city with so much to see and do with the most amazing transportation hub. My first time in London (not including when I first flew in) was to see a soccer match. The game was in West Ham United’s stadium which is in northeast London. The second time I went to London was when I toured the city with my friends Sam and Logan, and the third was when I went to explore the Christmas markets. All three times were remarkable. Between all three visits, I have seen pretty much all there is to see in London, and I want to reflect on my favorite aspect, the architecture.
The architecture is spectacular in London. London's architecture ranges from the Romanesque central keep of The Tower of London, the great Gothic church of Westminster Abbey, the masterpiece of St Paul's Cathedral, the High Victorian Gothic of The Palace of Westminster, and so much more. My favorite piece of architecture is Big Ben, which I have visited twice. The building is so detailed and I vividly remember looking up at it in awe the first time I walked up to it. I was exiting the underground when I saw it, and its height and beauty were so unexpected. I also adore the church of Westminster Abbey. I joke that I will get married there (even though I know that won't happen), simply because it is so beautiful. The gothic-styled building sits within several trees which contrast the building's light tones. Another building I remember leaving me awe-struck was St Paul's Cathedral. This massive building that sits between several other tall buildings is stunning. Although I only explored the outside, I was amazed. It compares to the Capitol building in Washinton DC, but many tourists overlook it compared to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. During my second visit, this was my favorite location to visit. London is simply home to some of the most stunning buildings.
