When I started my study abroad journey in Nottingham, I had no idea what I was getting into with this city. After nearly four months in this middle-sized town in the midland of England, I can say that Nottingham will always hold a piece of my heart due to its vibrant city life, beautiful nature elements, gothic architecture mixed with industrial roots, and amazing universities. There are several things about this city that I will miss such as the frost on the ground in the morning when I go off to class, the Nottingham Railway station, as it brought me countless adventures, the nightlife, even though I do not participate, it is fun living in a vibrant city. I will miss the way the rain falls, as it mists from the sky, so you barely notice it is raining until you're drenched, and the rainbows that would follow every shower. There is so much to love about this town. The main thing I have grown to appreciate is NTU, which I was hesitant about when I first arrived.
When I first arrived on campus at Nottingham Trent Univerity, I was amazed by the city aspect of it. The university sits right outside of the city center, so the buildings are built up instead of out, and the campus seems small. However, I have grown to appreciate the quaintness of NTU. The university has a student-focused atmosphere, despite being within a city, and I ranted about how much I loved the way students and learning are prioritized at NTU, and my love for that still stands. Since creating my blog about Nottingham Trent at first glance, I have decided that NTU is a remarkable university. Their slogan across campus is "like no other," and I finally understand it, as the university is like no other I have experienced. They prioritize learning and have built curriculums that promote a student's ability to have a career post-university. In both my digital marketing course and photography course, I have had hands-on experiences in both fields. The education, although less intense compared to the US, was positive for my university experience.
Ultimately, Nottingham and NTU are incredible, and I will miss them both as I venture back to the US.
